Chongqing Gyssien Gift Co., Ltd.

Commanding the full art of making top grade lanyards & promotional premium

The use of promotional premiums as corporate marketing aids has been steadily increasing by companies of all kinds around the world. From the multinational conglomerates to national chains to other smaller businesses, all are relying on these small and handy items in their promotions and brand building.

As the competition in the gifts market heats up, the marketers and buyers need to focus on two things when choosing their suppliers. Firstly, they have to find a manufacturer who strikes the right balance between cost and quality, thus addressing the buyers' costs and effectiveness concerns, which have become tougher and tougher. And secondly, since more and more gifts manufacturers are competing in the market, choosing a trustworthy business partner has become more and more crucial.

Chongqing Gyssien Gift Co., Ltd. stands out here as a highly competent supplier that fully satisfies these requirements. Established in the city of Chongqing in Mainland China, the company is a subsidiary of the Gyssien International Incorporation, which is headquartered in Los Angeles, California of the United States.

"Since we started in 1996, we have been dedicated to designing and manufacturing unique and outstanding promotional premiums, whilst striving to position ourselves as the most responsible and trustworthy company in the promotional gifts industry," Mrs. Cha Yonghong, sales manager of Gyssien, says.

With 10 years of experience, Gyssien Gift has now established itself as a specialist in manufacturing a wide range of well-imprinted lanyards, eyewear and jewellery retainers, cap straps, shoelaces, dog leashes, water bottle straps and even key chains, amongst other promotional products.

"Our top selling product line is our silkscreen lanyards. That has been the case since we started," claims Mrs. Cha.

Gyssien's growth is thriving on its continuous innovation effort to reinvent and expand its range of products. As such, the langyard specialist keeps coming up with many great and new products for the market all the year round.

Some recent innovative additions to Gyssien's product catalogue include a new range of wallets for credentials and identification cards, and the outstanding lines of promotional gifts. The glow in the dark lanyards and scented lanyards are definitely casting unique appeal to the market.

According to Mrs. Cha, Gyssien can also customise products to suit the clients' very distinctive needs. Mrs. Cha believes that it is due to this flexibility that goes hand-in-hand with the company's phenomenal success in the past few years.

"To be successful in the highly competitive promotional gifts field, we have to deliver the goods with the best design, best print quality, best service, fastest lead time and most competitive prices," she explains.

"I can say we have achieved all this over these years, as evident by the triple digit sales growth. I would like to attribute the main reason for our business success to the trust factor. Our clients trust us to get it right, get it done on time while being price-competitive."

To Gyssien, the trust factor is paramount in all business relationship. "We learned the great value of a trusty cooperation the hard way. To recall, we had suffered greatly from an unsuccessful imprint lanyard project with a sub-contractor in 2000. Not only did we learn the significance of trust in this episode, but also launched our own in-house silkscreen printing. Since then, we made it a top operation rule for us to keep the silkscreen imprint procedure in-house as far as we can, as it allows us a complete control over the printing quality of our products," adds Mrs. Cha.

By having full control of the entire production process, Gyssien can effectively implement the "zero-tolerance policy" to product defects. "Our quality control policy is carried out at every stage, from the moment we receive the order to the moment we ship the goods to our customers," Mrs. Cha explains.

"We maintain a stringent quality control mechanism. The finished items are inspected and signed off by a designated quality control team to guard off irregularities in sizes and imprint quality. This is how we guarantee the perfect quality of our finished products."

Gyssien's products are rolled out at its production base in Chongqing of China. The factory has 80 machines with various capabilities to imprint and assemble over 1,000,000 lanyards per month. The procedures cover all those of photo processing, plate making, imprinting, stitching work to the sewing of lanyards.

Currently, Gyssien's promotional gifts and premium are mainly exported to the US market through its well-built distribution network. Its clientele includes some of the largest companies in the world.

"Instead of just pushing for sales orders, we tend to form business relationships built on trust with these distributors. We look beyond sales orders to focus more on product quality and customer service," Mrs. Cha elaborates.

As for the company's future plans, Mrs. Cha says she hopes to forge more new contacts from Europe as a part of its global expansion strategy to grow their business there. So far, Gyssien has already commanded a firm grip in the United States, where Gyssien is widely recognised as one of the best promotional lanyard suppliers.

Mrs. Cha also sees that the gift and premium industry will continue to be largely affected by the prices of oil and raw materials. Another pressing challenge is presented by the rising labour cost as the competition for skilled workers intensifies, particularly in the Mainland China.

"These factors will pose great challenges to our business. That's why we have to foster faster product innovation and superior service. Innovation is to create winning products that cater to the market demand, while customer service to deliver top quality products to our clients in a timely manner," says Mrs. Cha.
