When you wake up in the morning and feel a dramatic change in your bedroom from warm to a chilly one, you wanna check the room temperature at once, right? Or at a barbecue party with your friends, just want to know whether your yummy steak and chicken wings are ready for eat or not? With Art Fair Enterprise Ltd.’s highly reliable and user-friendly thermometers, you will get all immediate answers, clean and clear.
Set up in 1982, Art Fair Enterprise Ltd. now specialises in the production of a wide range of digital thermometers, hydrometers and timers, while it still maintains a supply of versatile gifts and premiums to its customers. “Our company’s key mission is to incessantly come up with high quality products to improve people’s home living,” states Mrs. Monica Tang, director of Art Fair Enterprise Ltd.
When asked how the company got involved in the business of thermometer production in the early ‘90s, Mrs. Tang tells MegAsia: “At the beginning, we mainly focused on screen printing & digital watch production. There was once an opportunity when one of our business partners possessing the special skills and techniques asked us to join in collaborating with him in the thermometer production. We took the leap and grasped such a special “golden” chance to enter this new business. Thereafter, it has grown into a lucrative one.”
Art Fair’s thermometers come in 2 main categories: domestic type and the special line for kitchen use. “For the domestic type, we have bathroom thermometers, in-outdoor thermometers, in-outdoor thermometers with hygrometers, solar power thermometers, together with baby room thermometers. The kitchen thermometers are specially designed for use at kitchens and other cooking environments to gauge the temperature of roasted meat in ovens and during barbecue. For some models of kitchen and domestic thermometers, they can also function as alarms and timers,” Mrs. Tang introduces.
Art Fair’s thermometers boast two market-winning attributes: quality and high precision. “Our products comply strictly with the worldwide standards, ensuring that they are safe and of high quality. Our production passes a number of stringent factory audits required by those big brands like Walt Disney, Wal-Mart as well as Tefal. Furthermore, as accuracy is of vital importance to temperature measuring devices, we take every effort to ensure the highest precision,” claims Mrs. Tang.
While mainly working on OEM and ODM orders, Art Fair produces a series of its own in-house designs as well. “All of our products are trendy and practical. They enjoy high popularity in such markets as Japan, Germany, France, the Eastern and Northern parts of Europe, as well as the US. Now, we start looking into some “uncharted” yet highly potential markets like South America and the Middle East,” says Mrs. Tang.
Among the various product lines at Art Fair, the best sellers are domestic thermometers. Sales of this type of thermometers are particularly good in countries with cold climate. “People there always like to check temperature and how the weather will go when they wake up in a freezing morning,” Mrs. Tang points out.
Aside from producing thermometers, Art Fair continues to supply customers with a range of premium items, like those fancy slap bracelets with flashing décor, light-up key rings, badges, coasters, flashing body jewelry, party décor, etc. These premiums allow imprinting of advertising slogans and logos to make them good promotional items.
Art Fair’s Hong Kong headquarters is responsible for sales and marketing, material procurement, product development and financial control. Its 20,000-square-feet production plant in Shenzhen of China houses production facilities, like those of bonding, SMT, assembly line, sewing line, silk-screen printing, and packaging, etc. “With our comprehensive and stringent quality control system, Art Fair’s product quality is guaranteed. All our goods are CE and RoHs compliant.” Mrs. Tang elaborates.
“To stay strong in today’s market, we must keep on coming up with new products faster than the competitors and those notorious copycats. We are very sensitive to the changing market trends. Our R&D and design teams are always able to put forward innovative and new product ideas to target the right market segment at the right time,” continues Mrs. Tang.
Capitalising on the emerging trend of environmental protection and sustainability, Art Fair’s staff gears up for an innovative idea: the environmental-friendly solar power thermometer, which requires no traditional chemically-made batteries. It helps reduce the use of environment-adverse chemicals. “I foresee that this eco-product will attract a new market segment – the educated young generation who get keen to combat the environmental problems like global warming. As a company devoted to corporate responsibility, we will strengthen the development of our solar power thermometers to make contribution to environmental protection,” says Mrs. Tang.
