Fibre World

Weaving all fine doormats from natural fibres

An ISO 9001:2000 certified manufacturer, the Indian-based Fibre World is weaving its product success with professionalism and design innovation.

Fibre World was founded in 1998 by Mr Roby Francis, managing director and chief executive of the company. From the very beginning, Mr Francis had his heart set on producing doormats made of various natural materials, and this clear vision had laid a solid foundation for Fibre World’s notable success.

Ever since its establishment, Fibre World has been thriving on its design advantage. With a highly talented team of in-house designers and input from its engaged trend consultants, the company turns out the best quality doormats with equally fine designs to cater for the international market. Over its 6 years of development, Fibre World has managed to stretch itself further to expand its product line. Today, Fibre World is a versatile manufacturer armed with full-fledged capabilities in making a wide range of doormats, such as creel mats, moulded mats and rubber mats. And even textiles and floor coverings are now Fibre World’s renowned specialties. Apart from carpets, rugs and doormats, Fibre World today also makes indoor decorations for the home, such as natural-fibre baskets and cushions.

The year 2000 marked another milestone for Fibre World as it launched a new line of doormats made of rubber and coir, also known as the popular tuffridge mats. Fibre World had managed to fine-tune the production technology by introducing the wrought iron look border with coir mat in the middle. These tuffridge mats became an instant best-seller in the market, and the rubber-based coir mats are now the second largest product range at Fibre World.

To roll out so many different types of fibre doormats requires not only advanced technology and effective production procedures – human resources play an important part as well. Fibre World currently has 150 direct staff and 2,000 indirect ones to produce up to 5,000 doormats and carpets everyday. Fibre World earned the ISO 9001:2000 certification in 2003. The company’s continuous effort and contribution to the Indian manufacturing industry has also won from its local government the “Nirayat shree” award as one of the fastest-growing SSI (small scale industry) factories in all of south India.

Fibre World serves customers from around the world. Over the years, it has built up a strong base of customers from France, Italy, Spain, the UK and Australia. Fibre World’s increasing popularity in global market has much to do with a price advantage brought about by its immense capacity of inventory and the distinguished fade-resistant printing technology, both of which render the company an upper hand over its peers in the industry.

Looking ahead, Fibre World is gearing up to further tap into the US market with the help of a few exclusive agents there. Meanwhile, Fibre World is also keen on working with international entrepreneurs to form joint ventures in India to produce doormats in a much wider range of styles.
