Hop Hing Hat Factory Limited

Apart from its practical functionality, headwear nowadays plays an important part in fashion all year round. Want to find a stylish one to wear, no need to find elsewhere! Hop Hing Hat Factory Limited has it all for you. Established in 1971, Hop Hing Hat specialises in hats and caps manufacturing. Its wide range of headwear includes: bucket hats, fedoras, army caps, bandanas, ivy caps, sun visors, kids hats, ski hats, party hats, etc.

As a veteran in producing both hats and caps for over three decades, Hop Hing Hat knows what make the best for its headwear. “We carefully select different materials for our hats and caps based upon seasonality. In summer, most of our headwear is made of cotton while in winter, we change to polyester such as wool, fleece, fur and so forth,” says Mr. Tim Lau, director of Hop Hing Hat Factory Limited.

Hop Hing Hat is able to provide its customers with a full range of sophisticatedly designed headwear. By adding in different kinds of delicate and detailed accessories, the hat and cap specialist makes its headwear look extraordinary and stand out in style.

“As an experienced manufacturer with ample expertise, we are capable of fulfilling all of our customers’ requirements. We can come up with 50-60 brand new products each season. Our full-range headwear caters for people of all ages and different tastes across a wide spectrum of markets: the UK, Germany, Denmark, Norway, the USA as well as those in Asia, like Japan and China, etc.,” states Mr. Lau.

Mr. Tim Lau shares with MegAsia the typical skills and techniques for producing a fine hat, “First, a marker is made. Next, we select the right raw materials for production. With that, our skilful ‘masters’ can cut the raw materials according to the marker of the hat and sew them in the right shape. Then, it comes to ironing before the final stage of packaging.”

“Our ultimate concern is the hats’ comfort. Our hats are designed in consideration of the clients’ nationality, and most critically, their head size. We understand that the head size of European people is generally bigger than Asian people’s, so we would incorporate this factor into the design to ensure top comfort of our hats,” Mr. Lau adds.

Hop Hing Hat has a large production plant of 4,000 square meters employing more than 250 workers in Boluo Country, Guangdong Province of China. Throughout the production, the company has installed a strong quality control team to keep up with the high standards set for its caps and hats. All its headwear products have passed a series of factory audits and tests before delivery, according to Mr. Lau.

Hop Hing’s hats and caps are widely welcomed in the market. “We always receive good remarks from our customers praising our fine workmanship, high quality and excellent designs. Our devoted pre- and after- sales services win their trust and loyalty. All these help boost our business and client base,” says Mr. Lau delightfully.

Mr. Lau continues to attribute Hop Hing’s market success to his company’s committed effort in product research and development (R&D). “We invest much resource and time in R&D to tap the coming product and market trends. Our in-house designers keep on coming up with new product ideas. We can usually make new product samples available for customers to preview before they place orders for the coming seasons. We stay at the front of the industry trend so we always move well ahead of our rivals,” elaborates Mr. Lau with pride.

When asked about his marketing approach, Mr. Lau names a few: “We have been advertising in trade magazines and exhibiting in trade fairs to promote our products to potential buyers and new markets. We have been an exhibitor of Kenfair’s Mega Show Part 1 as well as Asia Expo London for many years. Internet is now also an effective marketing channel for us”.

Mr. Lau points out that the toughest challenge facing headwear manufacturers today is the impact of global warming. “As the climate is turning warmer, the sales of our hats have been affected. What is more, the climate change leads to alteration in seasonality, changing the distribution time and pattern of our products,” he relates.

Looking ahead, Mr. Tim Lau expresses his keenness to establish his own brand and transfer the higher garment-making techniques to his headwear production. “With our fine and innovative design, high quality as well as good workmanship, Hop Hing’s hats and caps will continue to be a top choice in the headwear market,” Mr. Lau concludes.
