Running a successful business requires more than just quality products and efficient service. A high level of integrity is essential for a supplier to establish a long-term relationship with its customers in years to come.
No one understands this better than Master Win Industrial Limited – a Hong Kong-based household products manufacturer who has planted its seeds on the local soil since 1994. With over 10 years of houseware-manufacturing experience under its belt, Master Win is well-known for its high quality plastic kitchenware, as well as a wide range of reliable household appliances.
“We started off our business with plastic-ware manufacturing,” said Mr C.C. Liu, managing director of Master Win. “Then, as the market became more and more competitive over the years, we realised that it was time for us to look for new sources of revenue to minimise risks as well as to further expand our business scope.”
This has led to Master Win’s decision to tap into the home appliances market in 1996, which proved to be a more profitable market with escalating demand from consumers. The home appliances from Master Win now include: deep fryers, steam cookers, healthy grills, cheese grinders, and more. “European buyers make up at least 40 per cent of our customer base for these appliances, while Japan is another high potential market where we have picked up many orders from,” Mr Liu said, telling of Master Win’s diverse spectrum of customers from around the world.
Master Win currently operates with its head office in Hong Kong (which handles mainly OEM orders) and two production factories in China. There are over 50 production engineers and 100 technicians working at the factories, devoting much of their time to developing production strategies. “We also have 6 designers responsible for product design under the supervision manager who is monitoring the overall operation at the factories,” said Mr Liu while giving MegAsia the low-down on Master Win’s operating structure. In addition to design experts and professionals, the factories are manned by over 3,000 skillful workers who roll out alongside the 150 advanced injection machines, producing only the highest quality of plastic houseware and household appliances.
“If there is one thing Master Win takes pride in, it is its determination to provide customers with the best it can offer,” Mr Liu introduced the company’s service pledge. The company adopts a stringent quality control system where every single item made in the factories must go through 4 QC procedures before it is shipped to the customers.”
When it comes to reaching for new potential customers and maintaining relationship with existing ones, Master Win never gets stingy. “Being a customer-driven manufacturer as we are, before and after-sales service is of top importance,” Mr Liu said, stressing the company’s core value. Attending international trade shows and placing advertisements in trade publications are some of the highly effective ways to generate publicity, while word-of-mouth has always been the most powerful driver for Master Win to go from strength to strength as a reputable manufacturer. “We have quite a number of customers who have approached us based on everything that they heard about Master Win and our abounding expertise in the field,” Mr Liu revealed with much gratitude. “It makes me feel good knowing that these customers are confident that we will provide them with only the best they could possibly ask for.”
Among its wide range of household products, Master Win has a number of “master pieces” that win the hearts of its loyal customers. Mr Liu elaborated, “Our current best-sellers are mainly kitchen appliances for every household, such as deep fryers and steam cookers. They are especially popular with our European customers due to their affordable prices and compatible quality with the European standard. All household appliances made by Master Win are CE-certified, making them exceptionally durable and safe to use.”
Master Win is now eager to tap into the US market. “Stiff competition among Asian manufacturers for the US market is one of the reasons we have yet to set foot on the American soil,” Mr Liu said as he explained the challenges for Master Win when exploring new markets. “European customers are easier to negotiate with because they value quality and safety more than anything else, whereas American customers are mostly concerned with the lowest prices. That is not something we can always make it up because of our unwillingness to compromise on the quality of our products.”
While stepping up efforts to crack the US market, Master Win will continue rolling out brand new products on a regular basis. “It is important for us as a manufacturer to be progressive and aggressive at the same time,” Mr Liu shared his business wisdom. “We are now working to upgrade our plastic packaging products to better satisfy our customers, while investing more in developing more premium items to help us form a wider customer scope.”
Master Win, being a veteran and ISO9001-certified manufacturer, obviously has its well-earned success built upon its sound business principles and beliefs. “I am proud of Master Win not just for its innovativeness and quality products, but for all the close relationships it has managed to form with its many customers over the years. Business ethics are something we will never ever compromise, and there is nothing we value more than the trust we gain from our customers. “We thrive on our well-built reputation as a trustworthy and reliable business partner,” Mr Liu concluded.
