Asia today. Indonesia was forcibly colonized and Jakarta was renamed as Batavia by the Dutch East India

of the colonial architecture of the 17th and 18th centuries of Old Batavia town.

Jakarta is always hot and humid, and October to February is the wet season when

Jakarta and surrounding areas are served by the Soekarno-Hatta International Airport.
Getting Around Jakarta
The public buses depart the airport for various city terminals every half hour, and bus fare
is only 7,000 rupiahs, which is approximately US$1. Visitors should check which bus travels the closest to
their hotels at the airport's arrivals information desk. To travel around Jakarta, visitors should only use
licensed taxis or hire a car.
