LARGEST TRADE FAIR FOR ASIAN MANUFACTURERS IN LONDON

(2 March 2003 - Hong Kong) Thousands of worldwide buyers gathered once again at the third edition of Asia Expo, London, which was held on 7th to 10th February at the Grand Hall, Olympia, London, to source from the wide-ranging Asian merchandise.
Organised by Kenfair International (Overseas) Ltd, the overseas operation arm of leading tradeshow organiser Kenfair International (Holdings) Limited ("Kenfair International"; HKSE: 223), Asia Expo '2003, the biggest Asian trade fair ever held in London, has drawn overwhelming response from both exhibitors and buyers.
Buyer attendance has increased by 19 per cent, amounting to 12,223 this year. The four-day event featured 851 Asian exhibitors, a 33 per cent-increment over last year's figure, taking up 930 stands. Exhibitors were all from across Asian countries and regions: Hong Kong, the Mainland China, Taiwan, Thailand, the Philippines, India, Indonesia, Korea, Pakistan, Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, Turkey and Sri Lanka.
"We are delighted to hear from most buyers that they are particularly interested in Asia-made products, while our Asia Expo, London, themed with "exclusive showcase for Asian products", tailors to fit their need for quality and reasonably priced Asian products," said Mr Herbert Ip, Chairman of Kenfair International.
Kenfair International's Managing Director Mr Duncan Cheung said: "Asia Expo has been the best Asian exhibition in London over the past few years. However, we are never satisfied with what we have achieved so far but always aim at positioning Asia Expo as the most significant Asian tradeshow in Europe."
In contrast with many similar Asian shows in Europe, upbeat responses from exhibitors and buyers have confirmed that Asia Expo '2003 was obviously the most outstanding sourcing event for Asian products in Europe, which was facilitated by several advantageous factors as good timing, the organiser's professional expertise and experience in hosting international trade fairs, convenient location, and more importantly, the show's reputation.
Most exhibitors were contented with the quality and volume of buyers at this year's Asia Expo. Many of them expressed they were able to meet a substantial number of new and potential buyers during the show. Meanwhile, buyers were impressed by the theme and comprehensive product range of the show. They even could save much time in looking for Asian goods since the show has brought under one roof the leading Asian manufacturers that most European buyers were eager to source from.
Shortly after Asia Expo '2003, a high proportion of exhibitors expressed that they would participate in Asia Expo again next year. As of 25th February, the repeat participation ratio for Asia Expo '2004 for the Mainland China, Taiwan, and the Philippines was 100 per cent; while the ratio for Hong Kong, Thailand and others was over 60 per cent.
The next Asia Expo will be held at the Grand Hall, Olympia, London on 6th - 9th February, 2004. The organiser expects there will be over 1,000 booths.
